Hey Mook
rock the Cres...
Congratulations to uncle Dave Cardno who has erected a deck in the car park of his fine establishment. With the band set up inside the front doors and with the windows and doors open there is a spillway for punters who can still hear the music and watch the band. Not a bad spot for a little half time too...The Mooks played two lengthy sets including stripped back versions of Never Gets You Anywhere, Podismukes Donkey, Cold Snap and Hook Line and Sinker, the latter featuring the one and only R J Febey on harmonica. Old favourites such as Worms and Crash Into You were resurrected. Trevor the tyrant did a worthy rendition of the John Cale classic Andalusia and Up All Night had its own 16 bar encore. The full band was joined by Luke the Mook with his beer bottle mute for the last set which included new songs: Sometimes, Drive me home, Southerly Buster and Every Minute of the Night. A rollicking version of Heartbeat brought the night to a satisfying close and the band stumbled up the hill to Bunnies Bar for a few night caps and a little full time.
