"It's not often you come across Tasmanian bands. Perhaps it's the great divide of Bass Strait that proves too difficult to cross. Or perhaps most of them immediately move to the mainland, seeking their fortune and lose their apple isle status.

Not so for Hey Mook, a band with a long history in the Tassie music scene. Never heard of them? That's OK, you have now. And it's just as well. This 10 track album is a surprising treat."

Mooks triumphant.

Mooks triumph at Republic with a monumental two hour bracket (well nearly)...night begins with The Shin Boners Lament (Don't Worry Wayne) to hearty, chuckling applause and finishes with thumping rendition of San Francisco and four song encore including killer versions of Cold Snap, Someone I care about and Can't Explain ... Transistor Town swept the pogo brigade into a trance like state and As You Do was on constant rotation, in the radio station of the mind, days later ... A slight stumble put a hole in $50 Haircut but, at last, Come Along Sweetness found its feet as a live song. Mooks get hot under the collar at lack of a suitable rider and will discuss with management so that a harder bargain is driven for future engagements.
